Ethical Consumer is published by a not-for-profit research co-operative and is the UK's leading ethical and environmental consumer magazine. Launched in 1989, it is an established and trusted name within the ethical business community and market.

Buyer's Guides

Each issue of Ethical Consumer contains buyer's guides to everyday products and services. Using the Ethical Consumer's extensive database, companies and their products are rated against more than 20 headings, including animal welfare and environmental and human rights issues. Based on these findings, they identify and recommend a number of ethical "Best Buy" products such as those produced by us.

How the Best Buy Label Differs From Other Accreditation Schemes

The Ethical Consumer Best Buy label is only awarded to those products whose environmental and ethical record warrant it and is unique in two ways:

• The Best Buy Label scheme is an invitation only scheme.
• Ethical Consumer's unique ethical scoring system rates the environmental, ethical and social record of the companies behind the products. Plus, the scoring system looks at the sustainability features of the product itself. Consequently, the Ethical Consumer Best Buy label is able to provide consumers with a way of buying with confidence from truly ethical companies.
