Rose Otto Essential oil

Rose Otto is often used in Skin care preparations. Known for being effective for broken capillaries, dry and mature skin and sensitive complexions. The Bulgarian Rose is considered superior. We buy direct from the Bulgarian producer to ensure that the quality of the Rose oil is pure and natural.

Always best to use distilled rose, called "Rose Otto" from the plant Rosa Damascena. Rose "absolute" is rose oil that has been extracted with chemical solvents. The absolute may have solvents in it left over from the extraction process which may be of concern. As a professional aromatherapist, I do not use absolutes in any of my products or in my health care practice.

About our producer

Our producer has planted over 60 hectares of organic rose gardens. Their Bulgarian Rose oil is steam distilled (no solvent extraction) and is 100% pure. This rose oil contains the essence of Rosa Damascena flowers, cultivated in Bulgaria. They have a perfect location in the "Rose Valley". The rose harvest in Bulgaria starts around the third week of May and continues, depending mainly on the weather conditions, for three to five weeks. The best weather conditions for Rose harvest are mild and humid weather. Under normal conditions, the harvest begins as soon as the flowers start opening and continues until all the flowers have been gathered. Flowers are picked up very early in the morning, whilst the morning dew is still on them, put in bags and transported to the distillery for immediate distillation.
